This is my second Zangetsu (shikai). I did a much better job on the overall curve of the blade and the handle wrap is much better than the original.
And by the way... You are allowed to bring wooden weapons to your concentions? Fuck I am jelous man...
Yes, no metal weapons and they have to (usually) be within a certain size (i think its 6 feet long).
Damned... I need the complete Turtorial etc... ^^
The best Zangetsu replica I've seen
No problem, it's about time someone made a anime accurate zangetsu with the right curves thats not straight, too small, with a dull rounded tip, or isnt wide enough. You really did a Good job on it!!
How wide is it at the base of the blade?
mmm not bad!
Awesome take on Zangetsu, I like how you actually have the pronounced curve that it had at that point in it's life. Well done.
you said you did a better job on the overall curve of the blade. did you use a template or blueprint or something? or did you just eyeball everything?
I paid more attention to how the curve was in the manga/anime the second time around. No template, just eyeballed it. I am actually working on the newer shikai version now.
did you use a blueprint or something? or did you just eyeball all of the cuts and curves?
I think pine. I bought a plank from Home Depot, one with no knots.
what type of wood did you use to make this awesome sword?
NOW THAT IS THE BEST ZANGETSU I HAVE EVER SEEN EVER!!!!
It took about 3 days. The first day I cut the wood and did all the sanding. Then I did the painting and had to let it dry between coats. Then I wrapped the hilt. I think its one of the easier ones to make because there is no cross guard and just one long bevel for the blade. I'm working on a Senzbonzakura for my nephew and Ichigo's "final" Tensa Zangetsu now.
How long did it take to make?
Thank you! I am excited to carry him around Baltimore in a few weeks.
